Our Story

An Empowered Advocate and Resource Champion

As a mother, educator, and advocate, I wear many hats, but the most transformative journey I’ve walked began with my son. Born with spina bifida and later diagnosed with autism, my son’s life has been both a profound challenge and an extraordinary gift. Navigating this path has reshaped my perspective, deepened my resilience, and fueled my mission to create resources for families like mine. This journey inspired the creation of Greenwood Worthy Resources, a platform designed to empower parents, caregivers, and individuals facing similar challenges, ensuring they can access the tools, knowledge, and community support they need to thrive.

When my son was born, my world shifted in an instant. I had to quickly learn about spina bifida—a condition impacting the spinal cord and physical mobility—and the medical complexities that would require continuous care, therapies, and adaptive strategies. The diagnosis of autism further added layers to this already complex journey, requiring new approaches to education, communication, and emotional development. As a mother, I faced moments of doubt, fear, and exhaustion, yet every challenge pushed me to seek solutions, advocate fiercely, and discover strength I didn’t know I possessed.

Alongside caring for my son, I remained deeply committed to my professional growth and education. My passion for teaching and advocating for students with disabilities grew exponentially. I’ve always believed that knowledge unlocks opportunity, and I brought this philosophy to my classrooms, empowering students and families to develop critical skills in self-advocating and career planning.

However, balancing a demanding career with the responsibilities of raising a child with disabilities was no small feat. Between medical appointments, therapy sessions, and navigating the complexities of special education systems, I experienced firsthand the isolation, frustration, and lack of centralized resources many parents and caregivers endure. I realized that for parents like me, time is precious, and access to reliable, organized information is often the difference between chaos and clarity.

This realization sparked the idea for Greenwood Worthy Resources—a platform born from both my professional expertise and my personal experiences. I envisioned a space where parents and caregivers could find comprehensive, organized, and verified resources—from healthcare services to financial support, educational programs, and local advocacy groups. Equally important, I wanted this platform to foster connections among families navigating similar challenges, offering them the community I had long sought.

Through Greenwood Worthy Resources, I aim to bridge many families' gaps. My platform curates reliable tools and ongoing updates, ensuring parents don’t have to search endlessly for answers. Whether it’s access to legal rights, education opportunities, or networking events that unite families, Greenwood Worthy Resources is a guiding light for parents seeking empowerment, understanding, and hope.

In addition to my platform, I’ve pursued advanced education to further my impact. I have obtained a bachelor's in arts special education and a Master's in Educational Leadership, and now completing a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance at William Paterson University. My academic journey has equipped me with the skills to manage complex systems, forecast outcomes, and develop initiatives that create lasting change—skills that are foundational to my advocacy work.

My story is not one of perfection but of perseverance. I know the triumphs of small milestones like hearing my son express a new word or achieve a physical milestone once thought impossible. I know the struggles of endless paperwork, misunderstood diagnoses, and the constant advocacy required to ensure my son receives the care and education he deserves. These experiences have shaped me into a relentless champion for my son and families who feel unseen or overwhelmed in similar circumstances.

My mission remains clear as I continue my journey: to empower, educate, and connect. Greenwood Worthy Resources is more than a platform—it is a lifeline for families seeking answers and a brighter future. I strive to use my experiences as both a mother and a professional to inspire others, proving that we can find purpose, strength, and the tools to create meaningful change even in the face of challenges.

In every family’s story, there is hope, and through Greenwood Worthy Resources, I aim to help others find it.
